Evidence-Based Therapy That Goes Beyond Talking About Anxiety:

Understanding why you're anxious can be useful, but understanding alone doesn't always change the behaviors that keep anxiety going. Our treatment is active and individualized. Depending upon your needs, therapy may include:

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)

  • ERP helps you gradually face feared situations, thoughts, sensations and uncertainty while reducing the compulsions and avoidance behaviors that reinforce anxiety and OCD.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • CBT helps you recognize the relationship between your thoughts, emotions and behaviors and develop more flexible and helpful ways of responding.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • ACT helps you change your relationship with difficult thoughts and feelings, increase psychological flexibility and make choices based on your values rather than anxiety.

These approaches may be used individually or integrated into a personalized treatment plan.

Who We Treat:

We provide individual therapy for:

  • Children ages 6–12

  • Adolescents ages 13–19

  • Adults

  • Older adults 65+

We also provide family consultation when family members need guidance in understanding OCD or anxiety and learning how to support treatment without unintentionally reinforcing avoidance or compulsive behaviors.

What Therapy at Summit Looks Like:

Treatment begins with an assessment so we can properly diagnose your condition, understand what you're experiencing, how it affects your life, and what you would like to change.

Together, we develop an individualized treatment plan.

Depending on your needs, sessions may include:

  • psychoeducation

  • exposure exercises

  • behavioral experiments

  • response prevention

  • cognitive strategies

  • mindfulness

  • acceptance-based strategies

  • between-session practice

Our goal isn't simply to help you feel less anxious in our office. Our goal is to help you develop the confidence and skills to live differently outside of it.
